Is this a good price for auto insurance in Miami?

Is $201.12 a month for full coverage from State Farm a good deal? Progressive quoted me for $285 a month and it doesnt even include UM and the liability is at 10/20/25. State farm would cover me 25/50/25, auto death indemnity, UM, and more.

I am a 22 year old female and i just got my license in Feb 07, and i live in Miami.
This is for a 2003 Honda Civic LX 2dr coupe (paid in full). This is my first car.

I was just wondering, if this is a good price compared to other people my age with similar coverage. I know my friend is paying $300 a month for his and he is 24.

Why don’t you try Compare Miami auto insurance online?

But really, it sounds about right. You are under 25, your a female, and its your first insurance. If you are a student and do good in school, you can get an additional discount. Also, all insurance comes with UM/UIM benefits, that’s liability coverage. If you are looking for collision, that coverage is if you get into an accident and are at fault, you are covered. Collision is definitely more expensive than that. You are saying full coverage for that price from State Farm, I would take it.

People that live in miami only, car insurance problem?

me and my boyfriend r trying to move out, its really necessary because my parents r moving far and if i go with them i cant see him again, any ways we have enough money, we both have money saved up and im working, we have enough to pay the bills, now the problem is that in November my bf had a terrible car accident, he was in the hospital for almost 2 months and now he needs a new car and he cant work until august because he is still recovering and his insurance rate (our insurance if we live in the same place) is going up the roof, im talking 800$ monthly just for his car, not to mention adding mine up too which i have a perfect record but he doesn’t. now my question is, does anybody know how we can diminish the payments drastically any company or anything? please please please im open to any suggestions and we r desperate

thanks

I think there are some details you are leaving out. Yes it’s possible for insurance for a single vehicle to be $800/month (despite David from Landa “We’re being investigated for unethical business practices” Insurance’s claim), however in order to get that high your boyfriend would have to be under 25, driving a sports or high end luxury vehicle and have some serious moving violations (DUI, Careless Driving, Dangerous Driving, etc). We already know he has one at fault accident, any others? There’s nothing he can do about his age. If he is driving a high end or sports car and/or he does have some serious moving violations then it’s time to sell the vehicle and buy an old beater for cash and insure it for liability only. This will help bring the premium down. You can always shop around, however if any of the conditions I mentioned before are true there aren’t going to be too may options, however at this point anything can help.

How to choose the right vehicle insurance coverage for you

A large number of people get puzzled when it comes to auto insurance. It is incredibly important to select the best coverage for your policy. Is it really worth it having a policy if you finally end up being underinsured? At the same time, paying for unnecessary coverage is really a waste of money. The fact is that, thousands of people in America pay too much for vehicle insurance.

It is very important to comprehend the fundamentals. First off, you need to know that your policy is in fact a bundle of different types of insurance coverage. Secondly, there are types of cover which are considered necessary by the state you live in. Generally they are Bodily injury liability (BIL), Personal injury protection (PIP) and Property damage liability (PDL) coverage. The minimum amount of cover varies from state to state.

Bodily injury liability – you must bear in mind that BIL gives protection in case you injure or kill somebody while operating your car. Additionally, if another party chooses to prosecute you after an car accident you have caused, Bodily injury liability coverage will provide for legal defense. A serious accident may become very expensive so its wise to have sufficient cover to safeguard your personal assets. BIL is with regards to people’s accidental injuries, not your motor vehicle. Try keeping a similar amount of BIL cover for all your automobiles.

Property damage liability – other people’s property is what this cover is designed for. If you find yourself in a position where another party is suing you for property damages you have caused, PDL gives you legal defense.

Personal injury protection – in some states closely connected with No-fault. It covers the medical bills for the passengers in your vehicle, including the driver. Some insurance policies include protection for injuries suffered as a pedestrian.

Insurance industry experts suggest that getting cover only up to the minimum requirements is simply not enough.

Additional Auto Insurance Coverage

Asking yourself what other types of cover may be beneficial? Well, it all depends on your circumstances, but here are the most common ones:

Uninsured motorist coverage – it doesn’t come as a surprise that the number of uninsured drivers has increased recently. You need to guard yourself and your family against such drivers. Adding uninsured motorist coverage to your insurance plan is advised by just about any insurance expert nowadays.

Comprehensive physical damage coverage – if you want your vehicle to be protected against fire, flood or theft, this is the coverage you need. Take into account the price of your automobile before adding such cover and decide if its really worth it or not. Having higher deductibles will keep the cost of this coverage affordable.

Collision coverage – if you hit another car or object, or even if you are hit yourself by another car, the cost of vehicle repairs will be covered by collision coverage. Once again, its only recommended to add this type of cover to your policy if your car is really worth it.

These are pretty much the main coverages that you have to have. Now you can make an educated decision which cover you have to have and which one is unnecessary for you. If in doubt, always consult a specialist and keep in mind to obtain more than the required minimum which is,in most cases, hardly enough.

I would like to move to Detroit, Michigan to Miami, Florida?

Do you think this is a good idea or no. For people who live there, is it a nice area to live in. Are people friendly, How is the cost of living, etc!

I moved from Detroit to Miami almost 5 years ago, so depending on exactly where in The D you’re from, you’ll probably pay at least a third more for housing. And your car insurance will skyrocket because driving in Miami is a lost art. I would do it all again in a heartbeat, though, because January in Miami beats out January in Detroit every time!

Miami from a social standpoint isn’t too different, other than maybe the demographic profile. Detroit is far worse as far as crime rate is concerned, although the level of crime also depends on where you live. I’ve lived in some nasty areas here and haven’t ever felt unsafe.

Hope that helps! Good luck with your move!

I want to move to Miami but i need to know a couple things?

Ok basically how much is rent down there and how much is down payment and is it fun im 18 and me and my cousin are planning to move there we also would like to kno if theres any places close to miami thats cheaper like an hour away or something? just tell me everything you kno about rent people how much is car insurance everything thank you

Car insurance will run about $295 per month full coverage in Miami, we’re the 2nd worst in the nation next to NYC/Jersey area.

You’re looking at $800 to $1,100 a month, If you’re looking for something relatively cheap, I can go on and on for an hour about what’s what… cheap usually means dangerous in MIA, and Miami has made the FBI’s top ten most dangerous cities list again this year.

Also try http://www.roommates.com

check out this little village called Miami Shores, it’s nice deed restricted community where their police takes things a bit more serious than Miami Dade County Police.
Miami Beach is nice but the people are horrible and there’s never any where to park your car. Kendall & The hammocks are gorgeous but unless you speak spanish fluently you will have a hard time because everyone refuses to speak English in that area.

My recommendation to you would be check out the city of Hollywood, Davie or Dania Beach or even Fort Lauderdale has some spots they might not be too expensive. a lot has change over the years in Homestead which I used to recommend to everyone but all the wrong kinds of people are moving in there and destroying that area.

Now if you have tons loads of money then check out
Coral Gables by the Sea
Saga Bay
Redlands
Key Biscayne
Bal Harbour
Boca Raton
Weston

Good luck!

Do I need auto insurance in Miami Florida?

Auto insurance is really expensive, do I really need it?
I live in Miami, Florida and prices on auto insurance are through the roof. Can I get in any really serious trouble if I drive without auto insurance for a while until I can actually afford it.

Yeah the prices are insane over here but it is very important that you have insurance, if not you could get into trouble say there is a reckless driver and you have an accident, you need help or say you are stopped by a cop, you cold get into trouble for not having insurance.Try this, it helped me save a really substantial amount of money. I used to have Allstate but I felt they were ripping me off I had all these stupid plus stuff I was paying for and didn’t even need it, so I heard that Geico was less expensive so I gave them a call after checking them out online. I got the minimum coverage with them and I am saving a lot of money!
you should check it out or see if your company can give you a downgrade and. say instead of covering a certain amount of money you can get them to cover less and it will be cheaper. But be sure to do this if you have caution when driving and dont srive like a crazy person. Try not to get any fines or into any accidents and that will keep the rates lower.
Hope it helps and that you understood what I wrote because I know I tend to not make sense some times lol
GOOD LUCK =D
